Visitors and traders at KT market adhere to SOP [NSTTV]

KUALA TERENGGANU: Efforts by the Kuala Terengganu City Council (MBKT), including announcements using loud hailers have resulted in most visitors to the Pasar Kedai Payang adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOP).

Apart from that, several traders also said there was a drop in the number of those coming to shop in preparation for Hari Raya Aidiladha due to the travel and movement restrictions.

Despite the drop in business, traders lauded the travel restrictions which helps prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Checks at the market also revealed that premises selling herbs and spices which were usually the top draw for shoppers had seen a drop in sales.

Shoppers at the market were seen strictly complying with the SOP by wearing face masks at all times, scanning their MySejahtera App and taking temperature readings at the main entrance to the market.

Traders also wore face masks and maintained social distancing when dealing with customers, with some even reminding shoppers about the SOP when shopping.
