PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry today said 11 Covid-19 self-test kits have received conditional approval from the Medical Device Authority (MDA).
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said of the total, seven used saliva samples, while the rest used nasal samples.
Among those which received approval were Salixium-Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Rapid Test (Saliva/Nasal Swab Samples); Gmate Covid-19 Ag Saliva for Home Use; BERIGHT-Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test Device (Oral Fluid); ALLTest Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test (Oral Fluid); JusChek Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test (Oral Fluid); Longsee 2019-nCoV Ag & Influenza A/B Rapid Co-Detection Kit; Sichuan Xincheng SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Assay and Flowflex SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Test (Self-testing).
The others are STANDARD Q Covid-19 Ag Saliva Home Test, ProDetect Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test (Saliva) and NEWGENE Bioengineering Covid-19 Antigen Detection Kit.
Dr Adham said the use of the kits could be done by any individual, regardless of having symptoms or otherwise.
"The results must be reported through the MySejahtera application, to enable appropriate action and monitoring to be done by the Health Ministry."
