KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is expected to announce more relaxations to the existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) soon.
Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the matter was discussed during the Covid-19 Quartet Ministers Meeting earlier today.
"The relaxations to the SOPs were discussed and agreed in principle during the meeting. And the matter will be announced by the prime minister soon," said Hishammuddin, who heads the country's Covid-19 response efforts.
Earlier, Hishammuddin had chaired the meeting, which was attended by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz and Multimedia and Communications Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa.
"I will bring forward the decision, which was agreed among the four of us during the meeting, to the prime minister.
"And he (the prime minister) will decide on the time and place to announce the relaxations of the SOPs," he said.
