KUALA LUMPUR: 18,295,014 or 78.2 per cent of the adult population in the country are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as of Saturday.
According to the Special Committee on Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) in an update on Twitter, 21,938,426 individuals or 93.1 have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
On the daily vaccination rate, 232,559 doses were dispensed yesterday of which 73,106 were first doses and 159,453 were either second doses or complete vaccine dosage.
This brings the cumulative total of vaccines dispensed so far under the National Immunisation Programme (NIP) to 40,155,975 doses.
The NIP was launched on Feb 24 this year in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the country. -- BERNAMA
