Payment for Phase 3 BPR and appeal cases from Sept 28

KUALA LUMPUR: Up to 3.6 million households, which are existing recipients of the Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) Keluarga Malaysia Phase 3 as well as those who had appealed for BPR, will receive their financial aid in stages from Tuesday (Sept 28).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the payout, involving RM2.82 billion, will be credited into the recipients' accounts in stages from Tuesday and expected to conclude by Sept 30.

"For Phase 3, each recipient will receive up to RM1,400 while those who appealed for BPR will get up to RM2,300, including an additional BPR payment under the Pemerkasa+ programme worth up to RM500, which is based on their respective eligibility based on their marital status, household income and number of children.

"This Phase 3 payment is the full disbursement of the balance which was supposed to be received by the BPR recipients and those who appealed for BPR to ease their burden.

"The government is committed to ensuring the wellbeing of Keluarga Malaysia, especially targeted groups affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, will always be defended," he said in a statement today.

Detailed explanation on the BPR Phase 3 payout, he said, will be made by Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.

Ismail Sabri added that several other forms of cash assistance such as Bantuan Khas Covid-19 and the Loss of Income Aid will be channeled to qualified recipients from October to December this year.
