Motorists stranded on KL-Karak Expressway

KUALA LUMPUR: Scores of motorists were left stranded tonight due to a landslide and several uprooted trees at KM69.2 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway heading towards Bentong.

Bentong police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar when contacted by Berita Harian, confirmed the incident, adding that personnel were being dispatched to the scene.

"Yes, I confirm the incident, as per the kilometre mentioned by a Facebook user. Further updates will be given later", he said when contacted.

Several videos have been shared by those stranded including actor and host Fizo Omar.

He took to his Instagram account to share the videos, which showed hundreds of vehicles stranded and tress uprooted.

In another video, he showed two lorries that were damaged after trees fell on them.

In another video shared by Twitter user, Azmi Hashim, he can be heard saying the landslide had occurred, and that the route to Kuala Lumpur was closed, with cars stranded and a lorry turned turtle.
