'A Touch of Love' by Prihatin and DXN

HULU LANGAT: Aid continued to pour in for flash-flood victims, courtesy of the National Prihatin Foundation (Prihatin).

This time, Prihatin teamed up with DXN Holdings Berhad to offer 500 victims various food and household items at Kampung Sungai Serai and those at Bukit Lanchong, respectively.

Prihatin chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Aizuddin Ghazali spearheaded the 'Sentuhan Kasih' (a touch of love) initiative in delivering washing machines, fans, mattresses, food and clothes.

Aizuddin said that it was a concerted initiative by his non-governmental organisation (NGO) and DXN's corporate social responsibility to render aid, to lessen the burden of those who suffered losses from the recent floods.

"We carried out the aid programme to respond to the government's call for organisations to step forward to face the challenges together.

"Hence, ala the 'Keluarga Malaysia' concept, we decided to do our bit to assist these less fortunate ones who lost their valuables, their homes and even their family members.

"The flash-floods were extraordinary this time around, although flooding is an annual malady," said Aizuddin, who called on other organisations to come forward with similar assistance.

Also present during the simple aid distribution was DXN chairman and founder Datuk Dr Lim Siow Jin.

Aizuddin hoped that their benevolent gesture would encourage more NGOs, corporate organisations and even government agencies to contribute to welfare foundations involved in charity works.

"Such a move will indirectly encourage the volunteers to offer aid readily and in an organised manner.

"Prihatin and DXN are planning more such strategies towards aiding others in need," he said.
