Ismail Sabri: Govt committed to deliver its promises to the people

PUTRAJAYA: There should be no doubt in the federal government's commitment to deliver its promises to the people.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this was reflected in the formation of special committees to monitor the rollout of initiatives as outlined in the 2022 Budget and the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP).

The people, he said, wanted to access and benefit from all the pledges and promises announced by the government to elevate their wellbeing and livelihood.

"Therefore, it is our responsibility to make good of our promises when we announced something for the people, whatever that may be, either it involves the 12MP or other initiatives. The people want to see the initiatives or programmes being implemented.

"This is why the government formed special committees to monitor the implementation of the 12MP and the 2022 Budget because the people want to see us delivering our promises," he said in his speech at the 'Majlis Amanah Perdana Menteri' with staffers of the Prime Minister's Department here today.

Present were Ministers in the Prime Minister's Department including Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed (Economy), Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) and Idris Ahmad (Religious Affairs) as well as Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.

Ismail Sabri said Prime Minister's Department staff played an important role to ensure the government delivered its promises to the people.

"All eyes are on this department since all key matters including the national policy is being placed under the Prime Minister's Department. For instance, matters involving the economy of the country and 12MP are under 'Tok Pa' (Mustapa).

"This is why we should step forward and set an example not only to other ministries but also to the people," he said.

Ismail Sabri also urged staffers in the Prime Minister's Department to take the lead in promoting the concept and spirit of "Keluarga Malaysia" as espoused by the government under his leadership.

"I have noticed the lack of intensity involving agencies under this department to promote the Keluarga Malaysia concept. Therefore, we must ramp up our efforts to promote the concept.

"How am I supposed to get other ministries to throw their support behind this concept when this department, which is seen as the key host in promoting Keluarga Malaysia do not do enough to promote it.

"Therefore, I implore on all of you to give your support and hardwork," he said.
