The recipients also received contributions in the form of angpao and hampers during the celebration today.

"As an organisation that is concerned in ensuring the safety and welfare of contributors as well as their dependents, we hope the organisation can help alleviate the expenses and preparations in celebrating this important celebration.

"Additionally, we also hope that this event can give a ray of joy and enliven the atmosphere of the Chinese New Year celebration for them, " said Socso chief executive Datuk Seri Dr. Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed.

He stated that organising similar events enables Socso to contribute back to the community and help alleviate the burden of the target group especially in conjunction with the festive season.

"The 'Social Responsibility' Initiative needs to be continued to cultivate the spirit of helping each other, as well as strengthening relationships between Socso and the community," he added.
