Over a quarter eligible children have received first Covid-19 vaccine dose [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Over 14 million people in Malaysia have received their Covid-19 vaccine booster shots as of yesterday.

According to the Health Ministry's CovidNow portal, a total 73,262 booster doses were dispensed on Tuesday, pushing the number of individuals who have received their booster shots to 14,736,569.

As of Tuesday, 90 per cent of adolescents in Malaysia have been fully inoculated against the virus.

Meanwhile, Sarawak boasted the highest vaccination rate for children in the country, as it has administered the first dose of the vaccine to 48 per cent of children in the state.

So far, 25.5 per cent of children eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine have been inoculated with the first dose.
