KUALA LUMPUR: Alchemiya, a United Kingdom-based Internet TV service, is offering a unique library of movies, drama, documentaries, and TV shows about the Muslim world to Malaysians.
This has been made possible with a partnership between Celcom Axiata Bhd (Celcom) and Alchemiya.
From April 2022, all 14 million Celcom subscribers can enjoy seven-day free streaming access to the Alchemiya service at no additional cost.
Following the seven-day period, customers can continue to enjoy Alchemiya at a special rate of RM9 per month with auto renewal, charged directly to their postpaid or prepaid Celcom accounts through integrated mobile carrier billing.
To access Alchemiya, Celcom customers can simply log on to alchemiya.com/celcom and they will immediately be able to watch quality Muslim movies or shows on their mobiles or Smart TVs by downloading the relevant Alchemiya app.
Alchemiya offers consumers a hand-picked library of "Muslim themed" TV shows and movies, sourced globally.
Each subscription allows users to access the service on many devices including phones, laptops, tablets, and smart tvs, for viewing on demand.
Alchemiya chief executive officer Navid Akhtar said the company was excited to be working with Celcom.

Alchemiya is also seeking to work with local Malaysian producers to create original content that captures the best of Malaysian culture and heritage that will appeal to a global Muslim audience.
The recent success of Turkish historical dramas offers the possibility of Malaysian stories to be produced and enjoyed by global Muslim audiences, who feel connected to the shared values found in these stories.
Alchemiya will continue to roll out its world-class service to additional key Southeast Asian markets in the coming future.
