KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia reported 1,571 new Covid-19 infections and one death on Sunday.
Data on CovidNow showed that of the new cases, only one was imported while the remaining were domestic transmissions.
As of yesterday, 4,526,298 individuals in the country were infected with the coronavirus.
Of the total, 4,468,191 recovered, 35,712 succumbed to Covid-19 and 22,395 individuals are currently infected.
Of the active cases, 21,375 (95.4 per cent) are isolated at home, 976 cases (4.4 per cent) are hospitalised, 26 cases (0.1 per cent) warded at intensive care units (ICU) and 18 cases (0.1 per cent) receiving treatment at Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).
Of the 26 ICU cases, 15 are on ventilator support.
Yesterday, 365 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospitals. Covid-19 bed utilisation rates are now at 13.3 per cent; Covid-19 ICU bed utilisation at 5.9 per cent and PKRCs at 16.3 per cent.
