2,384 new Covid-19 cases, 3 deaths on Monday

KUALA LUMPUR: Daily Covid-19 cases in the country continued to decrease with 2,345 new infections on Tuesday.

On Monday, 2,417 new infections were recorded.

According to the CovidNow portal, only three of the new cases were imported.

Since March 2020, Malaysia's cumulative cases stood at 4,600,736 while recovered cases were at 4,529,201.

The number of active cases showed a slight drop to 35,716 following 2,384 recoveries on Tuesday.

Yesterday (July 12), two deaths and one brought-in-dead case were reported. Fatalities now tally at 35,819.

According to the portal, 34,411 patients are currently undergoing home quarantine, while 21 others have been placed at Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).

At present, 1,232 Covid-19 patients are being treated at hospitals, including 495 new patients who were admitted on Tuesday.

There are 52 patients currently undergoing treatment at Intensive Care Units (ICU), including 31 of them on ventilator support.
