Woman crashes Myvi into shop

KOTA BARU: Two workers and a customer escaped unhurt when a Perodua Myvi crashed into a shop here today.

District police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said the incident happened at 9am in Kubang Kerian.

He said the 33-year-old woman driver was also unhurt.

"According to the workers, the driver had parked her car in front of the shop. When she started the engine, she stepped on the accelerator by mistake.

"The car lunged and crashed into the shop, hitting the counter.

"Three people in the shop were unhurt," he said in a statement.

He said initial investigation found that the driver from Perak had no driving licence.

"Police have recorded her statement," he said.
