2023 Budget: RM290m to repair lifts at low-cost high-rise housing schemes

KUALA LUMPUR: RM290 million will be allocated to repair old lifts at low and medium-cost strata housing schemes.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz when tabling the 2023 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat today also said that mobile health services would also be offered to residents in these areas, with an allocation of RM22 million.

He said rehabilitation classes would also be held at the low-cost housing who were left behind in learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic, while income-generating activities would be enhanced by Yayasan Hasanah.

The foundation would among others help food operators by using the Cloud Kitchen platform.

"Syarikat Jaminan Kredit Perumahan (SJKP) also provides government guarantee on housing loans, especially to help borrowers without steady income such as e-hailing workers, which have so far helped some 14,000 borrowers.

"To help up to 12,000 borrowers in 2023, the facility will be increased by RM3 billion."
