Annuar denies involvement in 'quiet' sale of KL Tower

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Annuar Musa has shot down claims that the Communications and Multimedia Ministry he previously helmed was involved in the transfer of ownership of the KL Tower concession from Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) to Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd.

"TM is a public listed company and was never under the ministry," he told the New Straits Times.

Annuar declined further comment, saying that the matter had nothing to do with him.

Separately, a source said it was not easy for an asset to be disposed of by a public listed company.

"It cannot be done without full disclosure. What more a government asset. It must be agreed upon in the cabinet first.

"But if those allegations are true, it was foolish of TM as KL Tower had raked in RM25 million in net profit annually," it said.

The NST has requested comments from KL Tower and TM, but there has been no response as yet.
