Body of drowned teen found stuck to tree

BERA: A 19-year-old teenager was found to have drowned in Sungai Pahang near Kampung Batu Bor today.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Services Department (Bomba) deputy director (operations) Ismail Abdul Ghani said that the victim's body was found floating about 900 metres from where he was believed to have disappeared at Pulau Kening.

"The victim's body was found stuck to a tree by one of the K9 unit's tracker dogs at around 10.44am near Pulau Kening.

"The victim was found 900m from the place where he is believed to have disappeared," he said today.

Ismail said that the Search And Rescue (SAR) operation for the teenager who went missing on Saturday began at around 8.30am with 13 personnel from the K9 unit, from the Triang and Maran Bomba stations.

Last Saturday, Faizal who hails from Kampung Bukit Lada Awah, Temerloh is believed to have drowned while bathing in the river together with five friends at around 4pm.
