Man found dead in a cemetery [NSTTV]

KUALA TERENGGANU: A man was found dead in Muslim Cemetery at Kampung Panji Alam, here, yesterday.

The man identified as Kamal Mohd, 52, was found lying in a hut in the cemetery by a cardboard collector, Faizol Taib, 38, when he passed through the area, at 5 pm.

Faizol said he tried to wake the victim, who he thought was sleeping.

He suspected that the victim had passed away when he failed to wake up.

"I told people who were around the cemetery but they ignored me, as they thought I was joking.

Yesterday, when I passed by this area, I saw that the victim was not feeling well and was coughing.

"Today (yesterday), when I saw him lying down, I thought he was sleeping and tried to wake him up, but it seems he passed away," he said when met at the scene.

It is understood that the victim left his home in Kampung Bukit Depu, near, here, more than a month ago.

The victim is said to have made the cemetery a place to spend the night.

It is understood that the victim suffered from diabetes and a chronic cough but refused to seek treatment.

Kuala Terengganu District Deputy Police Chief Superintendent Wan Mohd Zaki Wan Ismail said that the preliminary investigation found no element of crime and the case has been classified as sudden death.
