Hishammuddin - 'Evil' act of sacking, suspension should not blind one from the 'good'

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno's "evil" act of sacking and suspending several of its leaders should not blind one from the "good", said Sembrong member of parliament Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.

His remarks came following Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan's announcement last night of the sacking of Tan Sri Noh Omar and Khairy Jamaluddin and the suspension of Hishammuddin for six years.

"Their evil must not make us lose our good," Hishammuddin wrote on Instagram.

Commenting on the post, Khairy, who is former Umno Youth chief and former Rembau member of parliament, hinted at a comeback.

"Who would have thought all those years ago that this would be part of our journey together? But, as I said, it's not the end. It's far from the end," Khairy wrote.

Umno had also suspended former Umno information chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan, Tebrau Umno division chief Datuk Maulizan Bujang and Jempol Umno division chief Datuk Seri Mohd Salim Shariff from the party for six years.

In an immediate but brief response on his social media platform last night, Khairy, informed that he had been sacked from the very party that he loved so much and was loyal to.

"Unbowed, unbent, unbroken," he announced via a Facebook post and a tweet.

Following their dismissal, Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Muafakat Nasional (MN) leaders offered their respective hands of friendship to Khairy and Noh Omar.

Gerakan had also invited Umno leaders, who were either sacked or suspended from their party, to join the multi-racial party.
