Budget 2023: Aid for households with combined income of less than RM2,500

KUALA LUMPUR: The government will provide assistance for households with a combined income of less than RM2,500 under the Rahmah Cash Handout (Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah) initiative.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government will also allocate an additional RM600 food voucher under STR for those who are in the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry's e-Kasih database.

"This means households categorised in the hardcore poor category are eligible to receive up to RM3,100.

"At the same time, even though STR is an aid aimed towards the B40 categories, it has also benefited over 60 per cent of the adult population in the country.

"With an allocation of up to RM8 billion, STR will help reduce the cost of living burden of almost nine million beneficiaries," he told the Dewan Rakyat during the 2023 Budget tabling, today.

Meanwhile, with an allocation of RM400 million, the government will offer the e-Tunai Belia Rahmah credit amounting to RM200 to youths aged between 18 to 20-years-old.
