PUTRAJAYA: Immigration Department director-general Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud has been transferred to Prime Minister's Department effective today.
This was announced during a farewell ceremony held at the department's headquarters here today.
He is expected to report for duty on Monday.
National Registration Department director-general Datuk Ruslin Jusoh is set to take over his position at the Immigration Department.
Khairul Dzaimee held the post since 2019.
His appointment to the department took many by surprise as the then Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Bakar initially announced that Home Ministry's secretary-general Datuk Seri Alwi Ibrahim would lead the Immigration Department.
Recently, the department has been on the receiving end of criticism which included long wait to process passport applications (KLIA).
