Johor introduces myBAS50 travel pass

JOHOR BARU: The RM50 unlimited travel passes, valid on electric buses plying the JB myBAS routes, are now available.

The unlimited myBAS50 travel pass can be used on all myBAS buses, with a validity date of 30 days to be renewed monthly.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the initiative to introduce the unlimited monthly renewal travel pass myBAS50 was first introduced in the Klang Valley, valid on trains and buses operated by Prasarana.

However, the Johor Baru route operator's Syarikat Handal Indah will use electric buses.

Loke, who launched the myBAS50 pass and electric myBAS at the Larkin Bus Terminal, said myBAS public bus services is a project initiated by the federal government to serve the five corridors in Johor.

"The unlimited travel passes myBAS50 will be available from April 1 in all Johor Baru myBAS routes."

The pass is only for Malaysians, aimed to encourage them to use the bus for their daily travel and ease their financial burden.

The public can buy the pass using MyBAS application "Lugo".

This year, eight electric buses will be used to ensure sustainable public transportation, reliable services with proper bus schedules, and cashless payment.

The myBAS service was set up to connect the urban and rural areas more efficiently through a fixed schedule to enable people to commute to work, school and various other locations.

The electric public bus reduces noise and pollution and helps improve the financial conditions for the people.
