SHAH ALAM: Elly Afizahwati Abdul Jalil, the estranged wife of former inspector-general of police Tan Sri Musa Hassan, has slammed the person who published videos of an argument between the two.
She said the argument was about Musa's request for a share of her assets that were acquired before their marriage.
She said she recorded the clips to protect herself and as potential evidence in court.
"I am not the one who shared or spread the videos. I am shocked, too.
"The video clips have been handed over to the Kuala Lumpur contingent police headquarters for investigation.
"I had no intention to make the video clips go viral or to damage or ruin anyone's reputation," she said as she filed for divorce at the Shah Alam Lower Syariah Court today.
Elly Afizahwati said she was disappointed and upset that the video clips had gone viral as they exposed her 8-year-old son.
On Musa's comments about his "disobedient" wife, she said as a man, Musa should set a good example.
"As a man, he should show good manners, character and set a good example for his young son and wife. He has to correct himself first.
"I have kept quiet and have not made any comments on the matter. Musa said that because there are settlement negotiations between our syariah lawyers."
A Twitter user recently uploaded three video clips, ranging from nine seconds to 56 seconds, showing an argument between Elly Afizahwati and Musa, witnessed by their young son.
In response, Musa took to Twitter to ask the public for privacy and to refrain from interfering in or speculating about his family's affairs.
Police confirmed they were investigating the matter.
Musa and Elly Afizahwati tied the knot on Aug 2, 2013.
