#Elmina plane crash: Next of kin of victims have provided DNA samples

SHAH ALAM: The next-of-kin of all 10 victims in the Elmina plane crash have submitted their deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) samples to facilitate body identification of the victims who perished during yesterday's tragic incident.

The matter was confirmed by Klang Selatan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong.

He added that the samples were collected from the next-of-kin of all the victims when they were present by stages at the Klang Selatan district police headquarters since last night.

"All next-of-kins were present at the Klang Selatan police headquarters to have their DNA samples collected," he said when contacted.

Meanwhile, the operation to track down remains of the victims killed in the crash resumed at 9am today.

Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the operation today focuses on sweeping process at ground zero.

It was reported that the six-seater Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1) bearing the registration number N28JV had crashed near Elmina, Shah Alam during its approach into Subang Airport from Langkawi.

The crash had killed all eight people onboard and two road users in the incident.
