NIBONG TEBAL: A man was killed in a crash involving two vehicles at Km158 of the North-South Expressway (NSE), from Jawi heading towards Bukit Tambun near here, this morning.
The deceased has been identified as R. Thamudoran, 63, who died at the scene.
The Sungai Bakap fire and rescue station was alerted to the crash about 1.45am.
Operations officer Mohd Faizal Khan Mohd Hasan said when the firemen arrived at the scene, they found a Perodua Kembara and a trailer lorry involved in a crash.
"The crash caused the car driver to be pinned to his seat.
"He was certified dead by paramedics at the scene," he said.
Faizal said they managed to remove the deceased about 2.15am using rescue tools before handing him over to the police for further action.
The operation ended about 3.01am.
