Ismail Sabri calls for halt to atrocities committed by Zionist regime

KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has called Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Arab League, United Nations and the entire Muslim communities to halt atrocities committed by Zionist regime.

He said that Palestinians were enduring oppression and violence, with the clock ticking towards them becoming victims of the Israeli regime's assaults.

"They were oppressed, killed and their land confiscated. Every day, they are just waiting for the right time to become victims of the Israeli regime's attacks.

"Do not get caught up in the narrative of Israel and the West that this conflict is caused by Hamas," he said in a statement today.

Ismail Sabri said the Malaysian government has consistently supported the view that the land of Palestine must be free from the unlawful occupation of Israel.

He said the right of the Palestinians to form a sovereign and independent state must be upheld.

He added that the latest conflict between Palestine and Israel stems from a very long history, added that the Palestinians had been locked up in the world's largest open-air prison for decades.

"During the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), I urged the major powers to be honest in resolving the Palestinian issue.

"I call for the entire Malaysian Family to stand in solidarity and pray that the land of Palestine continues to be protected and blessed by Allah," he said.
