Fatal car accident claims lives of 3 women returning from Pas Muktamar

TANJUNG MALIM: Three women who were on their way home to Sungai Petani, Kedah after attending the 69th Pas Muktamar in Shah Alam were killed in a car accident here today.

Muallim district police chief, Superintendent Mohd Hasni Mohd Nasir said that all the victims were travelling in a Toyota Fortuner and were involved in the accident with five other vehicles.

He said that the 2.30pm accident also involved a Mitsubishi Triton, a Toyota Altis, a Yamaha motorcycle, a Honda EX5 motorcycle and a Perodua MyVi at the KM390 of the North-South Expressway here.

"Initial investigation showed that the driver of the Mitsubishi Triton had lost control of his car before it spun and landed in a drain on the left side of the expressway.

"Five minutes later, the driver of Toyota Altis lost control of his car and rammed all the vehicles parked on the emergency lane, before all the victims were thrown into the ditch on the left side of the expressway," he said.

Following the strong impact, Mohd Hasni said Fatihah Nabila, who was also the driver of the Toyota Fortuner and Taibah were killed on the spot, while Nurul Najihah was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at the Slim River Hospital here.
