The hunt for Mawar's family: Welfare dept seeks relatives of homeless individual rescued 16 years ago

MUAR: The Social Welfare Department (JKM) is seeking the public's assistance in locating the relatives of a homeless individual rescued by the agency 16 years ago in this district.

The individual in question is known as Mawar Hashim.

JKM Muar, in a statement, said that Mawar was rescued during an operation involving homeless individuals around 2007.

At the time of the operation, Mawar was found wandering aimlessly near the Muar Stadium, causing concern among the public.

Upon rescue, JKM did not discover any documents on Mawar, and simultaneously, she was unable to provide clear information about her background, family, or original place of residence.

Fingerprint scanning was also attempted at the National Registration Department (JPN) in Mersing, but this effort yielded no results and led to a dead end.

At present, Mawar is residing in the Desa Bina Diri Mersing facility. However, to date, no relatives or individuals have come forward to claim her.

JKM Muar is urging anyone who may recognise the homeless individual to contact Assistant JKM Officer, Yusyawati Mohd Yusof, or JKM Assistant, Nazmie Nazri, at 06-9521454.
