Police opened 104 investigation papers on 3R issues - Saifuddin

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have opened 104 investigation papers on cases relating to 3R (race, religion, and royalty) issues, the Dewan Rakyat heard.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said these investigation papers included cases involving members of the Parliament from both sides of the divide.

The police, he added, would continue to take action against any party found uttering statements that could threaten public security, regardless of political affiliation.

He also said the advice by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain that action would be taken on anyone touching on 3R matters, was a clear statement.

"(The opposition) claims that Pakatan Harapan (PH) rejects Islam, supports communism, and that PH is a group that rejects the royal institution.

"This was what was said in a video during a kuliah (religious lecture) in Masjid Rusila (in Marang, Terengganu) on Oct 14.

"So we had to make a report, and this had to be investigated," he said, responding to a supplementary question from Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (Perikatan Nasional-Pagoh).

The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president had asked that Razarudin retracted his statement which advised any party against touching and debating issues relating to 3R.
