37 people's development projects implemented in Sungai Buloh constituency

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 37 People's Development Projects have been implemented for 2023 via the Projek Mesra Rakyat (PMR) allocation for the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency.

Sungai Buloh member of parliament Datuk Ramanan Ramakrishnan, while debating the 2024 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat today, said from the projects, 6 involved the upgrading of public facilities, 8 for the upgrading and construction of mosques and surau, 4 for upgrading non-Muslim houses of worship, 12 for the upgrading and construction of Sekolah Kebangsaan, 5 for for the upgrading and construction of secondary schools, and 2 for the for the upgrading and construction of of vernacular schools.

"I thank Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the PMR allocation for all members of parliament. The RM2 million allocated can be used to develop their respective constituencies.

"The Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency has successfully implemented the RM2 million allocation under the supervision of the Unit Penyelarasan Pembangunan (ICU) Selangor" , he said.

On poverty, Ramanan said fundamental issues and the reality of poverty in Malaysia requires all stakeholders to close the poverty gap.

"Cooperation among all stakeholders, including MPs in debating issues involving people-centric issues in their respective areas, can end the vicious cycle of poverty) .

"This will not happen overnight but the charitable spirit within the people as part of the Madani Malaysia community can help us chart our country's new path," he said.

Ramanan said education remains the key towards the success of any civilisation. He said generating interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) among students is being actively done in the Sungai Buloh constituency.

"It is our hope in Sungai Buloh that through initiatives such as these, we can one day create new talents which can help the country rival even Tesla. Then, the country's national budget would focus more on human capital development.

"As such, it is the government's responsibility to ensure that the people's welfare and well-being are assured, with those who are able playing a bigger role in helping the weakest links," he said.

Ramanan also congratulated the prime minister, who is also Finance Minister, and all Finance Ministry officers for their dedication in preparing the 2024 Budget for the sake of the people.

He expressed confidence in the principles of "Reformasi Ekonomi, Memperkasa Rakyat" in being able to improve and restructure the economic system to benefit all Malaysians regardless of race and religion.
