Rain fails to dampen the festive spirit at Karnival Jom Heboh in Johor

JOHOR BARU: The second day of the Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH) at Angsana Johor Bahru Mall witnessed the arrival of visitors from all corners of Johor, including Singapore, despite a brief rain shower.

The rain didn't deter visitors from flooding the A & B Field of the shopping center, which featured a wide range of activities and offerings at nearly 200 booths, including food vendors.

One visitor, 30-year-old Mohammad Najib Ibrahim, who came with his wife from Batu Pahat, didn't want to miss the opportunity to visit KJH, even though they had other errands in the area. He said that despite the rain, they took shelter in their car and were willing to wait until the rain stopped.

"We actually had other business here, but because we knew the carnival was today, we stopped by, and this is the second time we've attended KJH. We see that this year's event is livelier. We hope the festival can be held more frequently," he said, adding that he took the opportunity to purchase various discounted items.

Siti Hamirah Ab Rahman, 42, from Pasir Gudang, shared that whenever Jom Heboh is organised, she always brings her children to experience the carnival's festivity.

She believes that attending the carnival can calm the mind and strengthen family bonds.

"Every time I hear about KJH, I will bring my children here. Even if we don't buy anything, it's okay. Just by strolling around, we can see a variety of people and experience the festive atmosphere." she said.

The second day of KJH Johor was also attended by Mohd Hairi Mad Shah, Chairman of the State Youth, Sports, Entrepreneurship Development, Cooperative, and Human Resources Committee, as well as Johor Baru Mayor, Datuk Mohd Noorazam Osman.

The three-day carnival, running from yesterday until tomorrow, offers a wide variety of attractions, including the Dinoland @ NSTP section, allowing visitors to experience prehistoric animals and take photos with various moving dinosaur models.

Besides hosting well-known local celebrities, KJH has also activated the Media Prima Palestinian Humanitarian Fund, allowing the public to make donations.
