Nanta to MPs: Lodge police, MACC reports if there are irregularities in projects in your constituencies [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi has welcomed members of parliament to lodge reports should they find any irregularities with projects in their respective constituencies.

He said the MPs can lodge reports with the police or the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Nanta said this after Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Ramli Mohd Noor asked for his opinion on the matter.

"As the Cameron Highlands MP, I would like to know... as we are all aware that there are many projects in the rural areas especially in the Orang Asli areas that are always facing problems and so on, especially in Kelantan.

"I was told that based on investigations, it was found that many of the projects were not according to the specifications.

"I have instructed my officer to cross-check it with the Orang Asli Development Department (Jakoa).

"I am planning to lodge a police report, as well as a MACC report. What is your thought on this as the minister," asked Ramli at the end of Nanta's winding-up session in Dewan Rakyat today.

Nanta replied that Ramli should, indeed, lodge reports with the police and MACC.

"We will investigate as well, and the report will be forwarded to the respective enforcement agencies for further action."
