JASIN: A woman died, while 10 others, including six children, were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Jalan Serkam-Bemban, Serkam, here, this afternoon.
The Merlimau Fire and Rescue Station commander, Senior Fire Officer I, Mohd Sukur Md Ali, said they received a report of the accident at 5.13pm.
He said a team of six officers and firefighters from the Merlimau fire station was immediately deployed to the scene for rescue operations and arrived 12 minutes later.
Once they reached the accident scene, the rescue team sprung into action to assist the victims in two vehicles- a Proton Persona and a Toyota Camry.
"Six people, comprising three adults and three children, were in the Proton Persona, while two adults and three children occupied the Toyota Camry.
"A woman passenger in the Proton Persona was confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel, while all other victims sustained injuries," he said.
He added that the victim's body was handed over to the police for further action.
