Dog with bottle stuck to head saved, public urged to provide specific details for rescue

KUALA LUMPUR: A spokesperson from the Malaysia Independent Animal Rescue (MIAR) appeals to the public to provide specific information to help animals when posting on social media.

This follows the case of a dog with a bottle stuck to its head near Casa Idaman in Shah Alam.

Photos of the dog, which appeared severely malnourished, was posted in a Facebook group for Setia Alam pet owners.

"In some cases you don't give an exact location with a contact number. That's very sad because you saw the dog suffering. Many people fail to understand this and then we have to beg and message them for it," said the MIAR spokesperson.

The spokesperson also suggested a solution to spay or neuter stray dogs before releasing them back onto the streets with regular feeding. This, she said, can alleviate the problem caused by an excessive dog population.

The dog is believed to have been caught after the photos were uploaded.

A Facebook user by the name of Hay Quee Kee uploaded pictures of the dog being captured and treated for its injuries.
