UCSI dean among world's top 0.1pct most cited scientists

KUALA LUMPUR: UCSI University graduate business school dean Professor Dr Ooi Keng Boon has secured a coveted spot on Clarivate's 2023 Highly Cited Researcher List.

Ooi was placed in the top 0.1 per cent of the world's most cited scientists.

Out of the 6,849 thought leaders recognised worldwide, only 11 researchers from Malaysian universities and research institutes, including Ooi, made the list for 2023.

Expressing his gratitude, Ooi emphasised the significance of being recognised by the global scientific community.

"I am pleased to make the list for the first time. This milestone captures the significance of my work over the years and I'm glad that my efforts are paying off and benefiting others.

"Consequential research is very demanding and time-consuming. I could not have done this alone and I would like to thank my family, UCSI, and my co-authors for their support," he said in a statement.

His passion for research has inspired his colleagues, with three of them also earning a spot in the recently published World's Top two per cent of scientists list by Stanford.
