AGC instructs police to complete investigation papers in Agus-Wahab case

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have received several directives from the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) to complete the investigation into the video clip case involving the former Community Communications Department (J-KOM) director-general, Datuk Dr Mohammad Agus Yusof.

The Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, said that the investigation papers had been referred to the Attorney General's Office last Friday.

He said that several actions needed to be taken before the investigation papers were re-submitted.

"These actions include technical reports from other agencies, including the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and telecommunications companies," he said today.

Addressing the allegations of sexual harassment involving Mohammad Agus, he said that the investigation's goal was the same – to seek truth and justice for both parties.

"Although there are other investigation papers opened related to the situation in Bintulu under Section 354 of the Penal Code and Section 377D of the Penal Code, the police will call anyone who can assist in the investigation," he said.

Moreover, Razarudin said that the decision on whether an arrest would be made against Mohammad Agus or not depended on the ongoing investigation.

"At this stage, the police are still conducting the investigation to gather material evidence for the statements and allegations made," he said.
