TAWAU: The driver of a cement mixer lorry died after losing control of the vehicle which overturned on Jalan Lucia, Kampung Serudung Baru here late yesterday afternoon (Dec 5).
In the incident that occurred around 3.20pm, Mohammad Jain Habib Kusin@Husin, 59, died at the scene.
Tawau police chief, Assistant Commissioner Jasmin Hussin said that initial investigations found the victim was coming from Jalan Kau Sing and heading towards Jalan Lucia in Kampung Serudung Baru to send cement for the construction of a bridge.
"However, upon arrival at the scene of the accident, the victim is believed to have lost control while going downhill which led to the cement mixer to spin and overturn leaving the victim pinned in the driver's seat.
"Firemen removed the victim from the mangled wreckage before it was confirmed that he had died at the scene," he said in a statement today (Dec 6).
