Malakoff imparts Renewable Energy expertise to TVET students

KUALA LUMPUR: Malakoff Corporation Bhd (Malakoff) is to develop course modules focusing on Renewable Energy (RE), energy solutions and district-cooling system for students in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes.

Malakoff managing director and group chief executive officer, Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, said this is part of the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) between the company with the Human Resources Ministry in facilitating and imparting specialised skills for TVET students.

Through the MoC, he said the company will share its knowledge and expertise on Renewable Energy (RE), energy solutions and district-cooling system to enhance the skills of trainers at public skills training institutes (ILKA).

"Malakoff will also contribute by granting access to necessary facilities and equipment, alongside providing essential funding for courses and training facilities at its premises to elevate the students' learning journey for their professional advancement," he said in a statement today (December 8).

Moreover, the collaboration will drive economic growth through a concerted effort to strengthen practical skills and knowledge tailored for specific occupations that focus on Renewable Energy (RE), energy solutions and district-cooling system.

He added the collaboration is an opportunity for industry experts to actively contribute in shaping a curriculum tailored to the knowledge and skills required for the dynamic and demanding sector like the energy industry.

"By embracing this initiative that encourages companies to actively contribute to enhancing skills and competencies, we believe it will not only propel the participating company's growth but also equip the younger generation with essential training and equipment, acting as a catalyst for economic growth.

"Furthermore, it offers us a chance to optimise our business efficiencies, consequently supporting the country's energy transition targets for a sustainable future. Malakoff is truly honoured to be part of this remarkable endeavour," he said.

The MoC was signed by Human Resource Minister V. Sivakumar and Malakoff's head of people's division Raja Iskandar Raja Mukhtaruddin in conjunction with 'Madani Government's One Year Anniversary Programme' at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil and was witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

This collaboration is part of Malakoff's commitment towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG) No. 8 that promotes sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, as well as full and productive employment that translates into decent work for all. – Bernama
