KUALA LUMPUR: Thousands of Malaysian job seekers rushed for a final chance to secure interviews and placements at the Madani Career Fair at National Stadium Bukit Jalil here, today.
The three-day event in conjunction with the government's one- year anniversary celebration brought together 63 government agencies and private entities offering 45,000 job placements across various industries.
Dhanendiren Narayanasamy, 33, said the career fair was useful not just for those who were looking for a new job, but also to learn more about the companies and organisations that they were interested in.
"The good part about this carnival is that you can just scan the QR codes to explore the opportunities available and submit your resume even after the event has ended.
"Job security is a big concern among many of us so I would love to see more engagements like this not just in Kuala Lumpur, but across other states as well," he said.
Muhammad Anwar Abdul Hamid and his friend Muhammad Aiman Zakwan Mohd Zamri, both 24, attended the career fair to gain a firsthand look at the dynamics of the participating firms.
"I think physical events such as this allows us to better explore and ask about the work culture of the teams present today so that we can make informed decisions related to our career path.
"This is something that is hard to gain if you just source for opportunities online where the communication is just one-way," he said.
For graduate Nur Sarah Sofiya Omar Bashah, 23, the career fair was a place for her to explore her professional aspirations in the IT field.
"For a young person like myself, it's harder for me to find the appropriate avenue to network and it is only because my career has yet to kickstart.
"So today I am just going from one booth to another to see what falls in line with my interest.
Apart from career opportunities, the Madani Government One Year Anniversary Programme is a platform for the people to see and understand the implementation of all policies, initiatives and achievements of the unity government throughout its one-year of administration.

Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the event was more geared towards the Madani administration's day with the public, with a total of 102 government services available under one roof.
