Daily shuttle service from Forest City to SecondLinK ICQS complex starts tomorrow

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Shuttle busses operating at anhourly daily interval between Forest City and the Sultan Abu Bakar Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex in Tanjung Kupang, will kick off tomorrow.

The first bus code-numbered FC1 will depart from Forest City at 5.30am towards the SecondLink to Tuas, Singapore.

Forest City teamed up with Handal Indah Sdn Bhd (Causeway Link) to introduce the Park & Ride programme.

Forest City vice president Syarul Izam said the programme enables commuters to park their vehicles for free at Forest City's transportation hub.

The hub is the pick-up and drop off point for passengers aboard FC1.

"This helps eliminate the hassle of manoeuvring traffic jams, and also to ease congestion, where there will be less vehicles on the road.

"It also reduces unnecessary travel time between Forest City and ICQS Second Link," he said, adding that the transportation hub provides 24-hour access to convenience stores, eateries, and public facilities.

Handal Indah Group of Companies executive director Lim Chern Fang said FC1 accepts both the ManjaLink card and cash payments.

FC1 will ply the route from Forest City and Tuas between 5.30am and 8.30pm daily on an hourly interval.

The programme was launched on Tuesday, and witnessed by State Public Works, Transport and Infrastructure Committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh, State Tourism, Environment, Heritage, and Culture Committee chairman K. Raven Kumar and Johor Public Transport Corporation chief executive officer Abdul Malik Ismail.
