AEON BiG reopens in Mid Valley with Orange Day sale

KUALA LUMPUR: AEON BiG (M) Sdn Bhd has reopened the doors of its Mid Valley outlet, unveiling the first store that seamlessly combines a premium shopping experience with unbeatable value for everyone.

Established in 1999, the store embarked on a refurbishment journey in March this year with a goal of providing customers with a distinctive and revitalised atmosphere, setting it apart from other Aeon Big outlets nationwide.

This initiative was fueled by a profound sense of gratitude towards loyal customers who have steadfastly supported the hypermarket for over a decade.

AEON BiG managing director, Sheikh Farouk Sheikh Mohamed said the refurbishment of the outlet took almost six months, aligning with the current needs of customers and recognising the necessity to enhance its services.

He emphasised the hypermarket's commitment to creating a joyful shopping experience for families citing upgrades to the facilities for a more satisfying experience.

"We upgraded facilities such as restrooms and introduced new amenities like a prayer room, along with modernised trolleys.

"But that's not all—when it comes to counters, we've incorporated self-checkout options, with 30 per cent of our counters now are dedicated to facilitating digital payments.

"Furthermore, our strategic partners and suppliers are contributing to the experience by offering promotional discounts on a range of premium products," he told the media after the outlet's launch at Mid Valley Megamall.

Sheikh Farouk announced that in conjunction with the reopening, Aeon Big is initiating the Orange Day Mid Valley campaign. It is the 10th outlet to have organised the campaign,

The hypermarket is offering up to 80 per cent discounts during this two-day event today (Dec 16) and tomorrow (Dec 17).

"Exclusively for today and tomorrow, the first 100 customers adorned in orange will receive special goodie bags. As a gesture of appreciation for supporting Orange Day. We will also be offering oranges to all participants.

"Hopefully, customers are as excited as we are for this new shopping experience. This is the right time for this announcement, especially for the upcoming Christmas Day and other festivities.

"This is an extension of our Rahmah sales initiative. While our previous Rahmah sale focused on specific commodity items, the Orange Day campaign is more expansive, encompassing a wide range of products," he said.

The Orange Day began in May this year and it featured exciting gifts and activities for customers.

The company also commemorated the reopening of the outlet with Lion Dance and an Indian traditional dance, Urumee.

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry Distribution and Business Sector senior director Datuk Rohaizi Bahari and the ministry's Kuala Lumpur director Ariffin Samsudin were guests.

AEON BiG is also offering Christmas festive and back-to-school promotions.

Sheikh Farouk said the company's recent collaboration with strategic partners were also among its highlights this year.

He said Aeon Big sponsored 29 Malaysian athletes at the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) and the 9th Asean Para Games.
