PM says Christmas is a time to love, show compassion and spread goodwill

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim urged Malaysians to show love, compassion and spread goodwill regardless of their different backgrounds during the Christmas holidays.

Anwar said this while extendeding holiday greetings in conjunction with Christmas tomorrow via a post on his social media.

He said these longtime practices have always strenghened the unity enjoyed by Malaysians.

"Wishing a Merry Christmas to the Christian community across the country. Christmas, a significant day for Christians, is celebrated annually with family and loved ones.

"May this celebration serve as a moment to always love, show compassion, and spread goodness among all individuals, regardless of their diverse backgrounds."

He said unity of all citizens is essential for the continuous development of the nation in terms of economic growth, increased investment, and the eradication of persistent poverty.

"May this year's Christmas celebration continue to bring joy, peace, security, harmony, prosperity, and unity to the country and the people of Malaysia," he said.
