Johor and Pahang on alert; continuous rain expected in nine districts

JOHOR BARU: Six districts in Johor, namely Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru, will experience continuous rain at the alert level (yellow) until tomorrow.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), issued the warning at 12.30pm today and also reported the same conditions in three districts in Pahang, namely Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin.

The National Disaster Control Center (NDCC), the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) and the Prime Minister's Department (PMD) in a statement requested that State/District Disaster Management Committees in the affected areas activate and enhance preparedness levels to face the impending disaster, especially in flood-prone areas.

"The committees are also urged to ensure that every temporary flood relief centre is equipped with basic necessities, and the on-scene control posts have all the necessary operational assets and are in good condition and ready for use."

Nadma through NDCC will also continuously monitor the technical information situation in cooperation with various technical agencies.
