Brunei prince shares new year greeting picture with future wife

KUALA LUMPUR: Pengiran Muda Abdul Mateen Bolkiah, the son of Sultan of Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, has posted a picture of himself and his future wife Dayang Anisha Rosnah Adam on his Instagram account.

The picture, which included the caption "Wishing You All The Best for 2024", received more than 332,000 likes.

In October, it was announced that Mateen is set to tie the knot in January, with Anisha, who is the granddaughter of the Sultan's special advisor.

According to Radio Television Brunei's Berita Perdana, the 10-day Royal Wedding Ceremony will begin with "Majlis Istiadat Bersuruh Diraja" on Jan 7, and also includes "Majlis Istiadat Akad Nikah" on Jan 11, the Royal wedding reception and parade around Bandar Seri Begawan on Jan 14, the Royal dining on Jan 15, and ends with "Majlis Istiadat Membaca Doa Selamat dan Menutup Gendang Jaga-Jaga" on Jan 16.

The 32-year-old Prince is a qualified helicopter pilot from the Defence Helicopter Flying School at Royal Air Force Shawbury.

He is also active in sports and represented Brunei in the big stage, including winning the bronze medal for the country's polo team at the 29th Southeast Asian Games held in Kuala Lumpur in 2017.
