NST and BH clinch gold at Putra Aria Brand Awards 2023 in Media Network category

KUALA LUMPUR: The New Straits Times (NST) and Berita Harian (BH) have bagged a gold award under the media network category at the Putra Aria Brand Awards 2023.

NSTP group managing editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman said the award marks the two publications as a credible news source of choice among readers.

The NST and BH have achieved the gold award for the second time, repeating their success from 2022.

"The Putra Aria Brand Awards is significant and meaningful for both NST and BH.

"It shows that we secured a spot among readers and proves we are a trusted and credible media.

"Our position is strengthening, and most importantly, this award is based on the people's choice, not by jury.

"And therefore, the public has chosen NST and BH as a news source to gain information," he said after the award ceremony.

Zaini, also the BH group editor, accepted the gold award for BH and NST executive editor (content and digital) Sharanjit Singh for NST.

Also present were NST associate editor (digital and print) Ahmad Najmuddin Najib, NST chief news editor Hizreen Azleena Kamal, NST news editor Hazween Hassan and NST digital editor Tharanya Arumugam.

The Putra Aria Brand Awards was established in 2022 by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) to efficiently and inclusively serve the marketing fraternity by highlighting branding efforts across all segments.

Measured by consumer preference growth, the organisation aims to recognise brands' excellence within the marketing and advertising landscape.

The Putra Aria Brand Awards is one of the two recognitions endorsed by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) as its Brand Champion Partner and supported by the Malaysian Advertisers Association (MAA), the Media Specialists Association (MSA) and the Malaysian Digital Association (MDA).
