Five workers hurt in solar installation mishap

SEREMBAN: Five workers were injured while installing solar panels at a building at the Oakland Commercial Centre, here, today.

The roof, measuring 20x100 feet, collapsed during the installation process. The injured workers were promptly taken to Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar for treatment.

Seremban 2 Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Harzizi Hashim said the department received a distress call on the incident at 1.05pm.

"The roof measuring 20x100 feet collapsed while a solar system was being installed at the premises.

"The five men were sent to Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar here for treatment," he said in a statement.

He said the department inspected the area to ensure its safety, and the case has been handed over to the police for further action. -- Bernama
