JOHOR BARU: Renowned preacher Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew today performed funeral prayers for Bella's remains at the Sultan Ismail Hospital forensics department.
When met at the Sultan Ismail Hospital forensics department, Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew, also known as Ebit Lew, said his purpose of visit was to render support to the family of Mila Sharmila Samsusah or Bella following their ordeal.
"Allah is close to those who are afflicted, may Bella's family endure the challenges they face," he said.
"I want to express my condolences to Bella's family.
"Allah will bestow goodness on individuals as much as they are afflicted.
"Hopefully, Allah will grant patience, mercy, and abundant goodness to this family," he said.
Ebit said he was also grateful to have performed the funeral prayer for Bella before her remains were taken to Masjid Datuk Bentara in Batu Pahat where she is expected to be buried in the Banang Islamic Cemetery.
"Yes, I led the funeral prayer inside just now, later at the mosque in Batu Pahat, there will be another funeral prayer," he said.
Bella was reported missing after going to the laundromat with her boyfriend on the night of Dec 14.
On Friday, police found an incomplete skeleton in an abandoned rented house in Tongkang Pechah, after being led there by one of the suspects.
Yesterday, the police confirmed the results of the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test on the found skeleton, confirming it to be Bella's, as the pathology sample matched the DNA taken from her sister and mother.
