Sarawak emphasises need for proficiency in artificial intelligence

SERIAN: Sarawak is recognising the growing need for expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) as it seeks to advance its green economy and renewable energy sectors.

According to UKAS (Unit Komunikasi Awam Sabah), Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus said the ability to harness AI technology is essential for the government's future economic development plans.

"He sees the pandemic era as a catalyst that broadened the use of technology and paved the way for cultivating a generation that is both creative and innovative," UKAS said.

During the Appreciation Ceremony for Mainstream Excellence 2023, Ilus outlined the Sarawak government's commitment to providing the best for its people.

He detailed various efforts and policies aimed at human development and resource management, aligning with the state's vision of becoming developed by 2030.

At the ceremony, Ilus also announced other infrastructure upgrades, including a project to upgrade the drainage around the football field of SMK Serian with an allocation of RM200,000.
