Early Childhood Education Plan to boost children's learning in Sarawak

SERIAN: The launch of Plan Pendidikan Awal Kanak-Kanak Tabika Perpaduan 2021-2030 by the National Unity Ministry heralds a transformative era in early childhood education in Sarawak.

It is aimed at fortifying the role of unity kindergartens in nurturing the potential of young minds.

According to the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), the comprehensive plan focuses on enhancing teaching methodologies, empowering unity kindergarten teachers, refining administrative operations, fostering collaborations, and establishing a robust monitoring system.

Speaking on the plan, Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus underscored the significance of early childhood education as the cornerstone for shaping character and personality.

"This plan aims to strengthen and enhance the role of unity kindergartens as early childhood education institutions in developing the potential and nurturing students who have a love for the country and practise moral values in their daily lives.

"In addition, teaching and learning methods (PDP), unity kindergarten teachers, administration, collaboration, and monitoring systems are also considered for the effectiveness and relevance of this institution in producing a more competitive citizenry in the future," he said.

Ilus said this when officiating the Smart Creative Programme and Convocation Day held at the Sarawak Government Administrative Center (PPKS) in the Serian Division, UKAS reported.

Highlighting the Sarawak government's commitment, Ilus mentioned Endowment Fund Sarawak (EFS), a policy designed to support the educational and career aspirations of Sarawak's children.

He called upon parents to support and endorse the government's efforts in securing a bright future for their children.

The programme, held at the Serian Division of the Sarawak State Administration Center, celebrated the creative talents and graduation of 93 young students from eight unity kindergartens in the Samarahan and Serian divisions.
