KUALA LUMPUR: The government has yet to receive any proposal to build a light rail transit (LRT) in Johor Baru, says Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
"We have not received any proposal yet on LRT JB (Johor Baru)," he briefly said.
He was responding to a question by reporters at the Prasarana 2023 Prasarana 2023 Performance and Future Plans report on whether the ministry had received a proposal to built an LRT in JB by Ancom Bhd.
Ancom Bhd is part of the pact with other businesses including LBS Bina Group Bhd, with Nylex (Malaysia) Bhd, Sinar Bina Infra Sdn Bhd and BTS Group Holdings Public Co Ltd to build and operate a LRT system with an integrated property development based on the "Transit-Oriented Development" concept in JB's metropolitan region.

On Nov 26, it was also reported that the Johor state government will submit a proposal paper for the construction of an LRT in JB to the Federal Government soon.
